How about my 67' deluxe 13 window VW combi, or MaryBeth's 74' VW Westfalia Poptop camper. The first trip for the Westfalia was down to Bahia de los Angelas, Baja Norte, MX and back towing my sunfish sailboat.David Westhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09826092261958587068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5211670216140060946.post-10363849871721988702010-06-22T09:47:57.454-07:002010-06-22T09:47:57.454-07:00Oh my goodness! Otherwise it would be a bit top-heavy on side-hilly roads.

The VW bus will go almost anywhere a 4WD will go (and some places that full-sized trucks won't), and would need modification to the air-cooled engine to survive in CA and NV summers. These modifications are relatively well-known and fairly easy to make. They will not go much faster than 50-55 mph, if I remember right... (especially uphill, when that number drops).Silver Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03131032620978696727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5211670216140060946.post-41514646650927527642010-06-22T05:32:38.114-07:002010-06-22T05:32:38.114-07:00Give me the VW.Give me the VW.Gaelynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05784162697113288888noreply@blogger.com
